Hautumn in Texas
It’s Fall. AKA Hautumn. The high temps are in the upper 90’s, the kids are back in school, some leaves are beginning to fall (partially due to drought) and there is a welcoming cool morning breeze.
This time of year is somewhat nostalgic for us. Having started two businesses, coincidentally in August/September, those seasonal changes are linked with an enthusiastic optimism for the holiday season and a New Year!
Technically, you could say summer is over after Labor Day. I can agree with that. Before you know it, you’re dressing your kid up as The Joker for Trick or Treating, eating turkey with your family, setting out milk and cookies then ringing in the New Year. Time does fly.
This week is actually our 1 year anniversary! Since then we have hosted: Birthday, Wedding, Reception, Quinceanera, Memorial Service, Company and Family Christmas Dinners, Open House, Photos with Santa, Prom and more!
One of our favorites was setting up the 360 Photo/Video booth for Halloween on the Square last year. We had the booth set up dead center of the venue. Dimly lit chandeliers all around, accent lights, strobe light and kids in creepy costumes. Families stepped up on the 360 platform, some dressed in a theme, most express themselves. If I’m not mistaken we even had a dog or two take a ride on the photo booth. Which by the way, Photo Booth is a bit misleading. While the product is capable of photos, videos are most commonly used. You can find videos of Halloween and more on our FB.
*360 Photo/Video Booth Explained*
You and up to 4 more people step up on a 48” platform with your backs to each other. Underneath the platform is a drive that spins four foot arm around the bottom of the platform. Attached to the end of that arm is a camera recording you and your friends dancing and celebrating. Its a very cool interactive and sharable experience and fantastic for parties. We love the 360 Booth for dress up events as well as costume events! There is no limit on how many you can do. Once you and your friends finish a video, it transfers to your phone via airdrop. Not only is the service super cool, the app allows for customization of your event. Holidays, birthday, prom, gala, easter, you name is there is a personalized frame. You can add the name of your event, Bride and Groom names, dates, etc. The app also allows for effects and transitions to boost the production value of the final video.
November and December are typically full of Rehearsal Dinners, Company Christmas parties and even a Family Thanksgiving Dinner. One of our favorites days to be open is for the annual Christmas Parade. We are on the corner of the square, therefore, we have a front row seat to the parade. The parade is always after dark, making for a more spectacular show of lights. Last year we opened our doors to the public. We had tables and chairs set up for post parade festivities. Bailey Rae performed an acoustic set and we had a good ole time!
As I’m writing this the temperature is getting up to 93. A welcome change from last weeks 107.
We have a fantastic charming venue on the corner of an historic Texas downtown square. We offer a few rentable services as well, 360 photo booth being one. Give us a call, text or email. We would like to show it off!
